but not all is lost ,, i have another user come on board that is also xp,, and has been watching the thread,, also willing to play under xp, for a bit ,, so you never know we may still come up with a answer

Edit: Got it! Seems there is another x64-driver-version which
is not avalible at the kx-homepage.  ???

Ok, with Win 7 64bit not even the default-skin works  :-\

I have installed Flash, and .net 4 and all required drivers

uninstall flash 11
install flash 10

the version of flash couldnt be the reason.

see what version my pc works...and all FreeIce versions are running well.

its just a test , i have done a fresh w7 install .
and with latest flash fi wont start
roll back to 10 fi works

YES!
Flash 10 solved the problems. Fi with Flashback plugin does now start, but says, that
optimFROG.dll is missing although i copied from ibass folder to system32 folder.  ???

regestering the dll does not help. regsvr32.exe does not work. am i the only one
with such problems?  :-[

yes, cut from ibass to sys32.
but at the moment i could not even get the kx-driver run. the drivers are installed, but
when i want to play an mp3, windows media player could not give out any sound, because
of problems with the audio device...

 >:(

I think i should get this problem fixed at first.

your now not using wmp , your using ibass player nothing to dobwith wmp

make sure settings.ini
at bottom

externalplayer=true,ibass

not work right.
but with the VLC player the soundout works fine.  ???

WMP says, that there is an error with my soundcarddrivers. perhaps
ibass do have a problem too with win7, VAC and KX-drivers.

I think i will not be able to use win7.
