How to skin FreeICE 101
« on: November 08, 2011, 10:54:21 PM »
ok.. I will be updating this thread as and when I complete each video.

I spent an hour tonight doing the first 'how to' .. It's the first time I've done something like this so please take the piss as much as you like.. lol

anyway, it's currently being uploaded in HD (get me..) to youtube. As soon as it's complete I will post a link up for everyone to have a laugh. It's just over 20 minutes and takes you through the 1st stage of making a skin. It locked up when I tried to do something in photoshop so.. thats when part 2 will start.

How to skin freeice....

PDF of skin commands / variables attached ( I will update as and when)

Video 1
FreeICE Skinning 1

Video 2 to follow...

thanks

Steve

Well I just watched the whole thing and this is pretty cool. I took some flash classes in college so it kind of started coming back to me. Thanks for the video, I think I will start making a skin on my free time. Also, side note, you mouse is LOUD haha wow. It has quite the decisive click to it. Reminds me of my old kensignton travel mouse. Anyways, thanks for the vid and keep it up.

That is with firefox. I will try with IE.

EDIT: Strange, I can download it with IE but not with Firefix.

yep.. you need the swi file.. then you export it to the swf and place that in the skin folder.

have a look at http://freeice.co.uk/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=14

Although it's a little out of date. I will be releasing the new source with 10.2 once I've ironed out all the bugs.
