Genesis II Ibass

well you all have seen screens shots about the forum ,,
in ibass thread and some plugins that have been developed for FreeiCE...
now this skin is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel...

i started out with freeice Not knowing Swishmax or flash at all,,, and i'm still flakey lol...
but its been a great experience

anyway heres some screen shots etc

Menu

simple menu setup,,,, top row of buttons ,, i have tryed to keep uniform through out the skin .
there are 4 buttons in each corner of the main window ,,, iconed,, visuals,,, clocks (shown),,,coverflow..

Player

again simple player ,,,, shows current playlist ,, scrollable,,, buttons on right, are double menu'd
basically the last button opens another menu of buttons,,,,
the list background shows the current playing tracks,, album art..

Browser

Now things are a little different to default,, here you can select your browse method,, by artist , by album etc
on left are buttons for more functions + a search function...

The Player is yet again simple ,, you can goto browser,,fullscreen and playlist from here

Image viewer allows you to have multi gallerarys, listed on left ,, thumb nails of current gallereay on right.
zoom in function and slideshow of current gallerey

still alot to do ,, but almost there a few changes and tweaks,,, i have had this skin running in the truck for some time now,, cpu tops at 10% at the most ,, average 2 - 5 % which is great for a flash app

well 1 days work ,,82 buttons, 580 labels ,, GenesisII now has its own OSK,

man hate osk's

but after a bit of a back step ,, thanks steve for the help ,, gen 2 is back on track,,,
still need  to skin pi's yet ,, but not long now i hope

Hey I can see your GPS screen has only the top strip (and not the bottom) visible, what is the rough pixel height of this strip?

Just trying to figure out how Igo would sit in this.

the top strip , which holds the tags ,, and if touched in the middle the player controls show,,

is 800 x 52 pixels

ok its comming ,,,

just going to redo all my indicators again, not happy with what i tryed,,
i'm leaveing enforcers PI's out this time round , as i did promise i would sort his files out for him,,
and as i have not skinned them in gen yet , i think its a good time to do it ....
everything you have seen in this thread is in place,, pic viewer will take some editing by the user at the moment to get images in place ,,,, till i can work on that again...

gen will inc the fiphone pi supported ,, but until steve has added it to default ,, not sure i should be the 1 releaseing it ,
but fiphone (andriod only) has now been voiced ,, meaning you can now use the ibass voice controll to use phone screen,,,..

all ibass voice functions are in place 98% of bass's features are in place ,, + all the settings you expect in fi default are in here too,

new list slider action can now touch any area of the slider and it will now jump to that area ....

there will be no help file at present , should'nt really need it , as i HOPE i designed the skin to be self explained

anyway enough crap from me ,, fingers X this weekend

ok while the site is getting sorted out i'll post the release link here and 1st post

1st off this has been a experience doing this ,, can't say wheather i learnt anything or not from it lol...

GenesisII is full geared up around the ibass plugin,, this allows for alot more features when it comes to audio and video,, just like FreeICE use's wmp,, GenesisII use's ibass player ,, don't get the 2 confused
when you are useing GenII you ARE NOT useing wmp , in anyway ...

when you use Gen for the 1st time , you will need to goto settings and set up a few things,
background,logo,build audio database,build video database
thats just the basics, which will get you going,,

The audio and video browsers give you a complete different way of seeing your files ,
video now gives you the video infomation , like imdb info ,, makes sure your movies are tagged correctly otherwise the build of database will not get the correct infomation about that movie..

in 2nd post of this thread i have started a how to  post ,, just a few pointers on where to look for things ,, this will change , as i just threw this post toghether for now

GensisII also supports all the settings you have seen in Default, + more ,,

Anyway hope you enjoy , PLEASE PLEASE report anything , bug, aligment , missing, can't use,
suggestions ,,

Today i wanted to try your Skin, but get some error while starting
freeice with your skin.  :-\

Any Idea how that problem could be solved?

ok thats fine,,,

check c:\windows\system32
folder for OptimFROG.dll
if not there copy from ibass plugin folder

ok get yourself back to default standard install

open settings.ini

skinname=default
and near bottom

externalplayer=true,ibass  delete this line

save start fi default should start for you

Ok, deinstalled all files and reinstalled freeice. Then installed Genesis Skin,
opened system.ini and set:

skinname=default

and deleted:

externalplayer=true,ibass

Same Problem. When i delete iBass-Folder from Plugin-Folder System starts.

Then i put "externalplayer=true,ibass" again in system.ini and set skinname=GenesisII again.
Works fine.

But when i put iBass-Folder back in to the Skin-Folder i get this Problem again.  :o

ok i don't know how old your fi.exe is ,, but look for plugins.xml , in either fi root or skin folder
if found delete it

whats youre OS, also .net 4 is required, extended and multi-targeting versions.

Ok, I deleted the plugins.xml. Does not help.

My OS is WinXP 32Bit.
.net 4 is installed as you can see on my attachment.  :'(

Another problem:
When i change the (Ford)-Logo to e.g. Audi and
restart FI, i get this (see attachment).

I think somethings wrong with my system.
But the default-skin runs perfekt.  ???

Ok, Opera-Plugin does not work, but the rest is fine.
 
Do i need any other software except .net 4?

Yes, it starts because i deleted the iBass folder from plugins-folder.

ok the settings are wrong ,,

the settings.ini you have just posted edit the
logopic

line to the logo you wish to use ,, its set for a background at the moment

also ibass pi folder needs to be in place for most of the skin features , the skin is not good without it

does not start.  :(

found a bug you did lololol

ok next

open your documents folder

look for ibass.freeice folder ,,, if its there ,, if there delete all contents of that folder
if its not there , well thats a issue

in freeice root, look for

ibassconfig.xml, post this for me

ibassrecongition.xml
ibassresume.xml
delete if present

once you have done this reply, i'll tell you the next step

Ok, contents of ibass.freeice deleted,
iBASSconfig.xml posted (again and again attachment :D )

ibassrecongition.xml found and deleted,
ibassresume.xml not found.

now waiting for orders  8)

we have not tested this on xp,, so its alien to us too,,

now you have my files in place ,,

remove , not delete

from ibass folder bass_ofr.dll
also .net mutli-targeting still needs to be installed

Hmm. The installationguide says, that i do need Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 for
the .net mutli-targeting-package  ???

Removing bass_ofr.dll does not help. perhaps i should install win7 ? :-\

the ultimate answer would be install w7 as we build on w7 , but its not the ultimate answer

I hope its NOT die VAC. I would be happy with default-skin, but

all i can say is good luck and becare full what you remove,, os code is relyed on in many case's with fi , and its pi's

i stopped vliteing because of this , and really did'nt speed things up that much just gave me a small file size ,,

but anyway ,, thank you for staying we me on this ,, sorry i could not find the answer for you ,, hopefull w7 will win you over and work for you ,,

Ok, with Win 7 64bit not even the default-skin works  :-\

I have installed Flash, and .net 4 and all required drivers

the version of flash couldnt be the reason.

its just a test , i have done a fresh w7 install .
and with latest flash fi wont start
roll back to 10 fi works

YES!
Flash 10 solved the problems. Fi with Flashback plugin does now start, but says, that
optimFROG.dll is missing although i copied from ibass folder to system32 folder.  ???

regestering the dll does not help. regsvr32.exe does not work. am i the only one

yes, cut from ibass to sys32.
but at the moment i could not even get the kx-driver run. the drivers are installed, but
when i want to play an mp3, windows media player could not give out any sound, because
of problems with the audio device...

 >:(

I think i should get this problem fixed at first.

your now not using wmp , your using ibass player nothing to dobwith wmp

make sure settings.ini
at bottom

externalplayer=true,ibass

but with the VLC player the soundout works fine.  ???

WMP says, that there is an error with my soundcarddrivers. perhaps
ibass do have a problem too with win7, VAC and KX-drivers.

I think i will not be able to use win7.

ok, the sound is runing perfect now. no idea why, but it does!

Now i have the problem with that missing frog.dll, although
i copied the dll from ibass folder to sys32 folder.

Perhaps i should simply use the default skin and should try to get
WMP play flac files -.-

to solve this frog dll issue you have 2 options.

1.- copy OptimFROG.dll to "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\"   this is for Windows 7 64 bit only.

2.- delete bass_ofr.dll on "C:\CdRsKuLL Productions\FreeICE\Plugins\iBASS"

this frog dll is to make bass play encoded files using optimFrog codec. if you dont have any you dont need it.
